Peepless Archery Sights

S'Agulla Reading Club 3rd Edition

was going to leave tomorrow (busy day over bath, dinner, Lego, Wii, story massage ...) when going to check the books Book Club that I had read last year, I realized that the post was February 23, 2008. Such a huge coincidence stealing makes me sleep to speak of the Club for this course.

We have a wiki: http://sagullaclublectura2009.wikispaces.com/

It can

consult the books for this course. I proposed

Kafka on the Shore by Haruki Murakami. I did this because I think is the best book I read last mind, well, the best book I've read in a long time. Arguably has two distinct stories in principle, but are encountered at different times.

one hand, the protagonist, Kafka Tamura, against the backdrop of the Oedipus myth as a set, is making his initial trip to the encounter with his mother and the curse of incest. On the other, the man who talks to cats, whose environment could remember a magical realism to Japan, where the most fantastic things and supernatural are presented with the same ease as in One Hundred Years of Solitude.

critics begin to qualify legendary writer Haruki Murakami, who is writing the mythology of the new millennium. I can not say much, because I've only read this and another book by the author, After dark (and very highly recommended.) However I can say that reading Kafka on the shore you understand what it meant to the ancient Greeks catharsis. Overflowing passions that lead the reader (viewer) to more mixed feelings.

Downdraft Behind Range

This week I have followed with amazement the comments that have run the web between the defenders of SL, caused by the press release last Monday the Government: The Government signed an agreement with Microsoft to "grow the use of Catalan in the classroom ."

can not be a demagogue, trying to sell what is clearly an economic agreement with liners of nationalist politics. But who is going to believe? Who will believe that behind Hotmail translate into Catalan (Gmail is translated from its origins almost, like Blogger and most Google services without having to sign any agreement) there is a lucrative proposal to purchase and sale of software with its relevant committees.

Because if not ... Why? Why sign an agreement to translate into Catalan MS Office, or the Explorer, if for years that the Open Office, Firefox and many other programs can be found SL FREE in the language of Carles Riba and Pompeu Fabra.

not understand ... or understood too well. In Catalunya we are used to pay for everything, whether complaining. We pay for most roads, for most services. Municipal taxes are "requeteabusivos" (my family Málaga IBI pay for their floor of the same features as mine ... almost 8 times less! And so on.

Y this will be applied to education, of course. If the budget for computers and ICT equipment in each center must xit s cost of each license of Windows 7 (traducidísimo Catalan) and MS Office, plus other proprietary programs that the Department be good enough to provide centers, it is obvious that we will have less money for the hardware ... Right? Defender

SL use in school and in society in general makes you look a lot like Don Quixote fighting the giants. You think that makes for a good cause, leaving all their effort and goodwill, while the rest of society sees you as being eccentric, a little crazy, anachronistic.

But what if the windmills become giants?

How To Make Sms Tones Work

mills Against second-class

This is my class, or While the virtual space we created together.
The second class is the blog front page that links the blogs of my students in Secondary 2.

I am not alone in my school. In my own department Francisco and Yolanda also used their blogs, and Looks learn, therefore I am to provide guidelines and bind to their students.

You may ask ... Do you start now to use blogs with your students? "Midway through the second quarter? The answer below.

is the first course I apply the use of individual blogs with students so young, and I found some problems that make me rethink their use in future courses.

First, we had to open all of a Gmail account without us reading the instructions, permits and licenses (does anyone do it? Please the summary!). As much as I insisted to put a username and password easy to remember, I have students who at this stage of course should take 5 Gmail accounts open and are still unable to understand that I do I can give you your forgotten password. About 70 students I have 60 addresses, not bad.

Second step, open the blog. Under these conditions we all accept without reading, is putting that to have Gmail account have to be 13 years. Horror! Students who meet the years after September the system received a message saying they were breaking the rules of Google. Glup! What do I do? Recommending that lie in their year of birth? So jóvenenes? Overall, there were those who had to wait until after Christmas to have the Blog.

After all this, we dedicate one-hour class to open the blog, customize the template, and write a first post of introduction. Well, who did not have time to write anything, and waited for the next week to do it, Blogger blocked her blog thinking it was a spam generator.

So, finally I have "almost" all bound students, open your blog with your password learned, without committing any crime (I hope). So I want to use it to its portfolio of writing and reading. Have to go post as the third versions of the essays they write (the first and second hand deliver it and I correct them), and learn to use spell of Firefox for the final touch. Also Reading hang your chips I have previously given for correction.

Balance of experience ... perhaps a little early to do that, I raise it again at the end of the course. But well, scathing comments, I have the feeling that the students of 2 º ESO are still a bit young (in general) to administer a single class blog. It may be better, as did my companion blog Núria with Inglés English 2nd ESO, make a collective blog that students pass us by e-productions, and we make the last cut and paste. As

Lourdes has invited me to participate in collaborative wiki on the book Red Apples Luis Matilla.
I hung up and a link to the documentary Promises, of which I spoke in the previous post, the guide display that I have prepared for the first half hour of the film (for students in Secondary 2 I considered excessive entire vision, taking that we were stopping at every stage to discuss and answer questions.)
I leave here the link to the guide:
